Potter’s Craft Cider
History:
This story is the story of two friends, Tim Edmond and Dan Potter. The short version is that they are college buddies who shared a love of home-brewing beer, which chance and good fortune transformed into a passion for craft cider. Their path to cider-making was roundabout, but cider embodied the perfect confluence of their interests in agriculture, fermentation, experimentation and discovery. Their journeys and backgrounds have given them unique perspectives that influence their approach to cider-making, from the apples that they use to the way that they choose to do business. They continue to be excited by the sense of what is undiscovered – there are still so many apple varieties, yeast strains, and styles of ciders to explore. They’ve had a lot of help along the way with strong support from family, friends, and the Charlottesville community, for which they are deeply appreciative.
