Democracy Vineyards
A farm winery homegrown by Susan Prokop and Jim Turpin among family-owned apple orchards in Nelson County. Founded in 2007, with 6 acres under vine since 2009 and a Tasting Room opened in 2012. Spectacular views of the vineyards and hills, with live music events and vintage releases led by winemaker Ben Margulies.

- White: Petit Manseng (Republic, Unum), Viognier (Constitution)
- Red: Chambourcin (Campaign, Suffrage), Merlot (Emancipation, Dawn’s Light), Pinotage (Freedom), blend (Velvet Revolution)
- Dessert: Port-style Petit Verdot (Parliament)
Tasting fee: $5 partial, $8 full
Hours:
- February/March: Friday and Saturday (and holiday Mondays), noon to 6pm
- April – December 15: Thursday through Monday, noon to 6pm
- Closed on Easter Sunday
