Family-run vineyard and artisanal winery began growing grapes in 1994 and has been producing its own wines since 2009. Located 8 miles from the Swift Run Gap entrance to Shenandoah National Park, Kilaurwen Winery provides spectacular views and an excellent setting for a relaxing pastoral getaway, and is also able to accommodate large parties both indoors and outdoors. Appellation enthusiasts curious about the origins of the Celtic-sounding “Kilaurwen” will be interested to note that it is actually a portmanteau of the names of the owners’ three daughters Kimberlee, Laura and Wendy.
