Pollak Vineyards

Drawing on his experience working in vineyards and wineries in Sonoma and Napa Valley during the early days of the California wine industry in the 1970s, David Pollak’s approach to Virginian wine also recognizes and builds on the experiences and discoveries of other renowned vintners who have worked with the local terroir. As co-owners of Pollak Vineyards, David and his wife Margo have created a production facility that renders accessible every aspect of winemaking, opening a winery in 2008 that incorporates a cold room, gravity flow-assisted crush pad and hill-ensconced barrel room. Exclusively producing estate-grown wines in small lots, Pollak Vineyards harvested its first vintage in 2005, a Meritage blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Since then, they’ve crafted a number of outstanding vintages, with two Reserve wines in 2009 and a number of single-varietal wines ranking into the mid-nineties in quality.
