Father/daughter winemaking team Scott Stinson and Rachel Stinson Vrooman pay homage to the “garagiste” wineries of France, both in the craft principles they practice and with the winery itself, which they converted from an old three-car garage. The Stinsons are devotees of French wines, especially those of the Bordeaux and Loire Valley regions, and follow traditional French methods with the assistance of winemaking consultant Matthieu Finot. Focus is placed on European-style wines that emphasize subtlety and complexity rather than power and super-ripeness of West Coast wines. Estate property also features the historic Piedmont House, built in 1796 and at one time the residence of General “Stonewall” Jackson during his Valley Campaign of 1862.
