White Hall Vineyards
Having recently celebrated its 22nd year, White Hall Vineyards has been accumulating accolades since winning back-to-back Governor’s Cups in ‘97 and ’98. Producing more fruit-forward, richer wines than are typical for Virginia, owners Tony and Edie Champ have developed their signature style over several decades, building on their experiences working in the California wine industry in the 1960s, as well as at the crossroads of international wine commerce in Manhattan, and yet ultimately staying true to the terroir of Virginia and the elegance of its top wines. From a winemaking standpoint, their house style is characterized as targeting a higher than average fruit maturity, and aging the majority of lots sur lie. Featuring a farmhouse winery, shaded picnic grounds and a view of the Blue Ridge Mountains from an elevation of 800 feet, White Hall Vineyards is also among the most romantic and picturesque stops along the Monticello Wine Trail.
